Students with Disabilities

Physical Access to the School Site

JFK is committed to reviewing and revising the physical accessibility of the school annually. Accessibility audits are undertaken as part of this process in determining and prioritising the needs of students. The school takes into account the needs of students as well as staff and visitors with physical difficulties when planning and undertaking improvements and refurbishments of the site and premises.

The school site is made up of six blocks with limited wheelchair access. Only D Block has lift access. There is however, ground floor access to all blocks and the main school hall.

Accessible toilet facilities are available in all blocks.

There is also wheelchair access to Reception for visitors. On site parking includes five dedicated disabled bay parking within the school gates for visitors and staff.

In the event of an emergency, all students will evacuate following the school evacuation procedure.

At all times, John F Kennedy Catholic School will take full account of:

  • Specific impairments
  • Student and parental views
  • Advice from staff
