Biometric Fingertip Recognition

Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future. (John F. Kennedy)

The biometric fingertip recognition process takes the measurements of one finger and converts these measurements into a template (a string of numbers), which is then encypted. The template is used to permit students and staff to access the school's catering services by placing their finger on a scanner at the point of sale or service. To comply with the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012, parental consent is always sought for each student before implementation and processing.

Parents can load money onto their child's account through the school's online banking system, WisePay. Students will also be able to load cash onto their school meals account through the cash loader machine in school.

Students on Free School Meals will use the same system. Further information regarding free school meals can be found at www.hertsdirect.org/canhelp
